Daviess County VINELink Coverage
Kentucky runs its custody data under two labels, VINE and VINELink. The Department of Corrections says the data can reach county jails and prisons. Mental-health facilities and juvenile detention centers may be covered too. Notices cover release, transfer out of a county jail, escape, or an upcoming parole hearing. Each one reports a status event, nothing more.
Daviess County has one real limit here. The Detention Center's own public pages never state that DCDC feeds VINE directly. No field list or refresh schedule appears either. The statewide program is built to include county-jail data. But that broad design is no promise that every Daviess booking shows up. Search both systems. Treat a blank result as a reason to keep checking rather than a final answer.
Search Daviess VINELink Records
Start with the Kentucky person-search route, or use VINELink's home screen if the app changes paths. KDOC allows searches by partial name or offender ID. A broad query can pull up several people, so match the record carefully before you rely on it or register for alerts.
- Select Kentucky and choose the option to find an offender or person.
- Enter a partial name or offender ID. Add only the identifiers the live form requests.
- Review every close match and distinguish a county record from a Kentucky Department of Corrections record.
- Open the correct result and read its facility and custody status before selecting any notification option.
- If no record appears, check DCDC JailTracker and call the detention center or VINE help line.
The official VINELink Kentucky search capture illustrates the state and person-search starting point.
This tool works best for one named person, not as a list of Daviess County arrests.
Daviess VINELink Result Fields
Fields in a Kentucky result depend on the source record. Read what the result itself gives you. VINELink handles custody and notifications, while the DCDC roster is the county's direct source for public booking fields.
| Result item | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name or record identity | Confirm the correct person, especially when partial-name results produce several matches. |
| Offender ID | A record identifier that may help separate similar names. |
| Custody status | The status reported by the participating source. It may lag a fresh booking or change. |
| Facility or system | Distinguishes a local jail record from a KDOC state record when shown. |
| Notification choices | Options tied to that record for eligible release, transfer, or status events. |
| Photograph | VINELink should not be treated as a booking-photo lookup, and no photo is promised. |
The same person can hold a local jail record and a DOC record at once. KDOC warns that near-identical but separate results happen. Registering on one entry may miss changes. Changes tied to the other record can slip past you entirely. A Daviess County booking record stays distinct. It is separate from any later state-custody record.
Note: A custody-status entry gives no final court disposition and proves nothing about the booked charge.
Register Daviess Custody Alerts
Once the right result is confirmed, pick Notify Me of Status Changes. KDOC describes anonymous registration by phone or email. Follow the app's current prompts and save whatever details you need to manage or remove a contact method later. The live screen sets the exact choices.
- Select the correct local or state record, then choose the status-change notification option.
- Choose the phone or email route offered by VINELink and enter the requested contact details.
- Complete any confirmation or PIN step shown by the application.
- Save the record and registration details. Use Edit Your Registration to manage or remove a number.
- If both local and DOC records exist, consider registering for each correct record.
The VINELink My Info route is the current alert-management entry point.
The registration screen manages alerts; it cannot confirm DCDC participation or promise an exact release time.
Confirm Daviess Custody Status
VINELink is not a universal inmate locator. It will not replace the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, U.S. Marshals channels, or the ICE detainee locator. Someone held at DCDC on a federal matter may never appear in the BOP system. The same goes the other way. A state inmate listed in KOOL need not still sit in the county jail.
For a fresh Daviess County booking, weigh VINELink against the official DCDC JailTracker roster. The Daily Arrest Report explains why that current roster is the closest official same-day check. There is no guaranteed 24-hour county feed. DCDC answers at 270-685-8466. VINELink phone help sits at 1-800-511-1670.
A release alert only says custody status changed. It does not state the court's final ruling, spell out every condition, or say where the person went. For disposition, the court clerk remains the source.
Daviess VINE Feed Uncertainty
Kentucky's VINE guidance is broad, and DCDC's public pages stay silent on the local link. That silence is the county's biggest VINELink quirk. Never stretch the statewide phrase "county jails." Not every Daviess County arrest will appear in it. The county also sends no set fields on a fixed clock.
A sound check runs two independent paths. Search VINELink for the person, then search Daviess County JailTracker. If both come up blank, call DCDC and VINELink support. If one returns a match, compare the name, ID, facility, and custody type. A mismatch can mean lag or a transfer. It can also point to duplicate local and state records, or simply the wrong person. The KDOC VINE FAQ documents the search, anonymous registration, contact routes, and duplicate-record warning.
This state guidance backs the alert process while leaving the exact Daviess County feed unconfirmed.
Daviess Release Alert Meaning
VINE notices flag a reported custody event. A transfer means the person moved between facilities or systems. Release means the source reported an end to that custody episode. Escape and parole-hearing notices may be available for eligible records. None of these messages explains why the event happened or settles the criminal case.
Keep the saved alert, then verify it. Call the named facility if the message affects immediate decisions. A Daviess County court event needs another source. Consult the Kentucky Court of Justice county directory. The circuit clerk can help too. For the booking record itself, use the DCDC public-information and Open Records routes.
Custody Is Not Guilt
Custody is one thing. Guilt is another. VINELink reports custody events, and the official outcome of a case lives in the court file, where charges can be reduced, dismissed, diverted, or resolved by plea. Confirm identity before acting on any alert. A similar name or an old Daviess County booking entry can mislead, and the detention center is the better call when accuracy matters.
Need help with a Kentucky VINE registration? KDOC lists Victim Services at 502-564-5061 or 877-687-6818, plus OVS.Help@ky.gov. Those contacts explain the state service, but a live Daviess County custody check still belongs to DCDC. Ask the detention center about a booking. Ask the court clerk about the case. Keeping each question with the office that owns the record prevents mix-ups between a jail status, a state offender file, and a court disposition.
A notification helps with practical planning. It can guide transportation, reconnect you with someone, or flag a custody change in a known case. Automated messages can lag, though, arriving after the event itself. Save the notice, check the named record, and call the facility when timing is tight. For an immediate threat, call 911. Do not wait on an alert or keep refreshing a search.
